Administrative Assistant of the Planning Department

Reporting to the Director of the Infrastructure Department, the incumbent is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director and coordinating the Director's public relations, research and analysis activities.

Requirements:

  • Advanced proficiency in grammar, punctuation and spelling in French and English is required;
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the field of administration in the urban planning, building or municipal by-law sectors preferred;
  • Excellent in-depth knowledge of office software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook;
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop software an asset;
  • Training at the college level in public administration or equivalent;
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills and ability to manage various projects;
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced, versatile environment;
  • Ability to trailer confidential files;
  • Ability to work after hours and have flexibility for hours of work;
  • Establish simultaneous and deadline-driven priorities to meet work requirements;
  • Work in a team and have a positive spirit;
  • Be open to available training;
  • Provide a criminal background check.

Language requirements:

Be fluently bilingual (French and English) and be able to speak, read and write in both official languages.

Compensation:

The salary, based on 35 hours a week, is between $52,854/year and $65,956/year includes an excellent benefit package, a pension plan as well as free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Centre (gym).

Registered Early Childhood Educators (Part-Time) will be under the supervision of the Daycare Manager and will be responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security and their well-being and ensure professional and efficient management of the programming and activities of the service.

  • College degree in Early Childhood Education or in the process of completing an apprenticeship program;
  • Be a member of the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario;
  • Valid and negative criminal record check - Vulnerable sector (within six months);
  • Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification;
  • Must be 18 years or older;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Patience, empathy and understanding of children’s needs;
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
  • Capacity to work within a team and participate actively in supporting the center, children, families and co-workers;
  • Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Language requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of French (St. Joseph and St. Jean/La Croisée);
  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of English (St. Mother Teresa);
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Compensation:

The salary is between $25.43/hour and $28.63/hour and includes pension plan as well as a free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Center (gym).

The Non-Graduate Educator will be responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security, and their well-being. 

  • Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification;
  • Valid and negative criminal record check – Vulnerable sector (within 6 months);
  • Must be 18 years or older;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Patience, empathy and understanding of children’s needs;
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
  • Work in cooperation within a strong team environment.

Language requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of French (St. Jean/La Croisée and Saint Joseph);
  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of English (St. Mother Teresa);
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Compensation:

The salary is between $20.85/hour and $23.47/hour and includes pension plan as well as a free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Center (gym).
