Accounting Financial Analyst

The Township of Russell is looking for a mature and motivated individual to fill the position of Accounting Financial Analyst. The individual will be responsible in providing essential accounting support to maintain the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations. This role includes performing bank reconciliations, processing journal entries for various external programs, conducting financial analysis, and preparing worksheets and reports for financial statements and the annual budget. 

Key responsibilities include but not limited:

  • Perform daily, monthly, and annual bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records and compliance with financial policies.
  • Prepare and process journal entries for external programs, ensuring proper coding and adherence to accounting standards.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide reports to assist in financial forecasting, budget preparation, and strategic planning.
  • Develop and maintain worksheets and other financial tools to support the preparation of financial statements and the annual budget.
  • Compile financial reports for the department, providing detailed insights and ensuring accuracy in data presented to stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline data entry and financial reporting processes.
  • Assist with preparing consolidated financial statements and support internal and external audits with necessary documentation.
  • Provide support to the Senior Analyst and take on additional duties as assigned by the Assistant or Deputy-Treasurer.
  • Analyze and report salary budget variances and prepare budget vs. actual reports for salaries, benefits, and general expenses.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in finance, accounting and/or other related fields or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Experience in public sector is an asset
  • Three (3) years of experience in accounting, finance or a related role.
  • Ability to use office equipment and work in a computerized office environment (with strong knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite). Proficient knowledge of accounting, budget preparation and financial statement analysis.
  • Knowledge of payroll processing procedures is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the laws and regulations relevant to the municipal environment, is an asset.
  • Ability to work with high accuracy and ability to manage multiple tasks and meat deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and mathematical skills.

Language Requirements:

Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of both French and English.

Compensation:

The salary is based on 35 hours a week and is set between $60,044 and $74,965 per year. The Township offers an excellent competitive Benefit package, a pension plan as well as a free access to the gym at the Municipal Sports Dome. A detailed job description is available upon request.

Registered Early Childhood Educators (Part-Time) will be under the supervision of the Daycare Manager and will be responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security and their well-being and ensure professional and efficient management of the programming and activities of the service.

  • College degree in Early Childhood Education or in the process of completing an apprenticeship program;
  • Be a member of the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario;
  • Valid and negative criminal record check - Vulnerable sector (within six months);
  • Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification;
  • Must be 18 years or older;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Patience, empathy and understanding of children’s needs;
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
  • Capacity to work within a team and participate actively in supporting the center, children, families and co-workers;
  • Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Language requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of French (St. Joseph and St. Jean/La Croisée);
  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of English (St. Mother Teresa);
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Compensation:

The salary is between $25.43/hour and $28.63/hour and includes pension plan as well as a free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Center (gym).

The Non-Graduate Educator will be responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security, and their well-being. 

  • Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification;

  • Must be 18 years or older;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Patience, empathy and understanding of children’s needs;
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
  • Work in cooperation within a strong team environment.

Language requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of French (St. Jean/La Croisée and Saint Joseph);
  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of English (St. Mother Teresa);
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Compensation:

Full-time Non-Graduate Educator: The salary, based on 40 hours a week, is between $20.85/hour and $23.47/hour includes an excellent benefit package, a pension plan as well as free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Centre (gym).

Part-time Non-Graduate Educator: The salary is between $20.85/hour and $23.47/hour and includes pension plan as well as a free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Center (gym).
