Township of Russell Hires New Chief Administrative Officer
Embrun, Ontario, April 19, 2022 — The Township of Russell has named a new Chief Administrative Officer.
Council appointed Dan Faughnan as the Township’s new Chief Administrative Officer at the regular meeting of April 19, 2022, following a long recruitment process that began in December 2021.
A resident of Russell since 2001, Mr. Faughnan’s background includes many years in the national security space as a Senior Executive Manager with Public Safety Canada. Prior to that, he worked over 15 years in the Canadian Armed Forces Reserve. During that time, he was noted as a transformational leader, engaging in several seminal projects in a variety of senior leadership roles. During his time in public service, Mr. Faughnan and his family have lived and travelled extensively throughout Canada and abroad and have grown an appreciation for the Township and its incredible potential.
Mr. Faughnan will begin his new role at the Township on Monday, April 25, 2022.
“Council is confident that Mr. Faughnan will lead the municipal administration with great success,” states Mayor Pierre Leroux.
The Director of Finances/Treasurer, Richard Godin, has been acting as the Township’s interim Chief Administrative Officer following the retirement of former Chief Administrative Officer, Jean Leduc in December. Mr. Godin will return to his regular role and duties next week.
“Council would like to thank Mr. Godin for his support during this transition phase and we look forward to the next stage of our evolution as Township continues its vision of being the best place to live when planning your future,” further adds Mayor Leroux.
