Russell, Ontario, December 8, 2021 – The nonprofit has provided more than $1.7 million to hometown heroes to date.
The Russell Fire Department has been named a 2021 grant recipient by Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada. Russell Township is safer than ever thanks to the Foundation providing important funding in the amount of $10,712.
The grant will be used to purchase a Williams gear dryer and ResQmax line launcher rescue device for the department and will ensure our community is better prepared for emergencies.
“We’re so thankful for the support from Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation, and our local Firehouse Subs restaurants in Ottawa & Orleans. Fire Chief Bruce Armstrong also noted, “The Williams gear dryer will properly dry bunker gear and allow faster turnaround time for the gear to be back in service. The ResQmax line launcher rescue device will allow for a safer and more timely approach to saving victims in a water and rescue emergency. Both pieces of equipment will benefit the community and the health and safety of our firefighters”.
The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada has awarded 266 grants to public safety organizations since 2015. This grant is one of 11 Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation of Canada awarded to public safety organizations during the most recent grant cycle.
