Recreation Complex Update - March 7, 2025
Last fall, we saw the completion of the underground drilled Controlled Modulus Columns (CMC) which provide building support. The construction of the building foundations, piers, and grade beams has continued to progress over the winter months, with Rinks #2 and #3, including the central core change rooms, now completed. Site crews are now nearing completion of Rink #1 under-slab drainage/grade beams and the pool filtration and change rooms.
Crews are now moving into the community centre and the central core of the building, which are the final areas for foundation work. Interior under-slab drainage and storm/sanitary piping are being installed, alongside backfilling within the building footprint, following concrete pours
Masonry work on the load-bearing block walls is set to begin in the coming weeks. The site will also see the shipment of structural steel for the arena components in March, allowing exterior wall and roofing work to proceed afterward.
The project is advancing well and remains on schedule. View newly added photos in our photo gallery.
