Project Manager and Design Consultant Chosen for Recreation Complex Project

Council approved a project manager and design consultant for the Township of Russell’s Recreation Complex at the September 8, 2022, Special Council Meeting.

Turner & Townsend will lead as Project Manager and MacLennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects will lead as Design Consultants.

The report and discussion were held in closed session, as per the Municipal Act, 2001, section 239(2) (k). Council have authorized for a copy of the report to be included in the meeting minutes, which will be available as of September 14.

Project timelines will be discussed with both companies and brought to Council later for information.

"Our community's dream is one step closer to becoming a reality with Council awarding the contracts for the Design and Project Management of our future Recreation Complex,” states Mayor Pierre Leroux. “I am incredibly proud of the municipal project steering committee team and wish to thank them publicly for their professionalism and dedication to this unique project.  I also wish to thank our consultant, HPC, whose experience and expertise was critical in moving us along to the next level.”

The future Recreation Complex will serve as the community hub for recreation and culture for our growing community and surrounding areas. The Township of Russell has been working on the project since the 2015 Recreation Master Plan.
