NOTICE OF A RESCHEDULED PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING BY-LAW

TAKE NOTICE that the Corporation of the Township of Russell will hold a public meeting on the 17th day of May 2021 at 6:00 p.m., to consider a proposed amendment to the Township of Russell Zoning By-law #2018-094 under Section 34 of the Planning Act, R.S.O 1990, as amended.
AND TAKE NOTICE that as the province of Ontario has declared a State of Emergency to limit the transmission of the COVID-19 virus, therefore, the Township will hold an electronic public meeting, as per the Procedural By-Law, in accordance with the Planning Act, Section 34 and orders made under the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act.
AND TAKE NOTICE that there will NOT be any ability to attend the public meeting in person however public participation is available and encouraged by clicking on the following www.russell.ca/calendar. The Township strongly encourages written comments to be submitted prior to the public meeting. The meeting agenda can be viewed on the Friday before the meeting.
The Planning Department has received a complete application for a zoning by-law amendment for a property legally described as being Concession 7, Lot 8 PT P J B LEWIS;1898 L9 L10 L11 RP50R3321; Part 1, 2 RP50R1727 Part 1, known as 926 Notre Dame St., Embrun. The proposed Zoning By-law amendment would change the zoning from “Village Core – exception 58 (VC-58)” to “Village Core – Exception 58 – temporary exemption 5 (VC-58-T-5)” in order to permit a temporary office trailer for a maximum period of three years.
IF A PERSON or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Corporation of the Township of Russell to the Local Planning Appeals Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make a written submission to the Corporation of the Township of Russell before the zoning by-law amendment is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
IF A PERSON or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to the Corporation of the Township of Russell before the by-law for the zoning by-law amendment is passed the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeals Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
The owner of any land that contains seven (7) or more residential units must post a copy of this notice in a location that is visible to all of the residents.
