May Positive Tickets for Youth
We are rewarding youth for good deeds in our community!
Our Public Safety and Enforcement officers are issuing "positive tickets" to local youth for helpful actions, behaviour, and acts of kindness. Each “ticket” includes a gift card to a local business as a reward for being a great role model.
During the month of May, we have rewarded four youth with Positive Tickets for their initiatives within their community.
- Maria and Lucia, for their involvement with the community garden behind the Russell Library.
- Violet has been a positive influence in the community. She is helping with groceries and greeting visitors of the local library.
- Catherine is a volunteer teaching assistant at the Russell Children’s Ballet School. She is also an advocate for the Down Syndrome community by doing presentations at her school during the World Down Syndrome Day (March 21st).
If you see someone 16 years or younger who is spreading positivity, let us know. Contact our Public Safety and Enforcement Department.
Special thanks to our community groups and local business owners who are sponsoring prizes in this program, including the Kin Club, Legion, Giant Tiger, McDonald’s, and Tim Hortons.
