October marks the celebration of Latin American Heritage Month, a month designated by the Parliament of Canada in 2018. It is an opportunity to recognize and acknowledge the significant contributions that members of the Latin American community have made to the fabric of Canada.
Whether you have Latin American heritage or not, Latin American Heritage Month is a chance for everyone to come together, learn, and appreciate the diversity that enriches our world. Ask our Township Library staff for some reading suggestions to learn more about Latin American heritage and to honour the rich cultural and artistic traditions of our fellow Canadians of Latin American origin.
