Invitation to the 17th Women’s March
You are invited to participate in the 17th annual women’s march Take Back the Night. The goal of this global movement is to raise awareness about sexual and gender-based violence.
This year’s march will take place on September 18, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. and will start from St. Jean Baptiste elementary school located at 35 Longueuil Street in L’Orignal. Refreshments will be served, and door prizes will be drawn at the end of the march, courtesy of local vendors.
This event is organized by Centre Novas - CALACS francophone de Prescott-Russell in partnership with the Township of Champlain and Women United and in collaboration with Interlude House, United Way of Eastern Ontario, Réseau des Femmes Immigrantes Francophones (RéFIF-PR) [network for francophone immigrant women], Leadership Féminin Prescott et Russell (LFPR) [female leadership of Prescott and Russell], and 92.1 FM Eastern Ontario.
"I look forward to participating in this year’s march in L’Orignal, where I have the honour of accepting the torch on behalf of our Township for next year’s event. This march is a vital platform for raising awareness about gender-based violence; I encourage everyone to join us in walking in solidarity, demonstrating our collective commitment to this important cause,” shared Mayor Mike Tarnowski.
Come and walk with other allies to support the fight against gender-based sexual violence in our region. For more information, visit www.CentreNovas.ca/mdf2024.
