November is Hindu Heritage Month

Russell Township proudly recognizes and celebrates this special month which culminates with Diwali, a festival of lights, on November 12.

Neeraj Joshi, a local resident since 2021 will be celebrating Diwali with friends and family here in Russell Township by lighting sparklers and candles to signify the victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.

The holiday is made complete with delicious food, especially sweets.

The owners of the new local Indian restaurant Uptown Resto and Bar offer popular desserts Ras Malai and Gulab Jaman for those celebrating Diwali, and for anyone with a sweet tooth who wants to join in the fun.
