Urban Tree By-law - Report IS-PW-2025-01 (Item 11h) |
Council received a draft of the Urban Tree by-law, which aims to protect the trees within the settlement area (village limit) and ensure the environmental sustainability of our Township. The draft is available for public review in the Council Meeting Agenda. Comments and feedback can be sent until April 11, 2025, to the administration at infrastructure@russell.ca or to Council members (contact information available at www.russell.ca/council). The updated draft will come back to Council on April 28, 2025, for 1st and 2nd reading and final reading on May 12, 2025. Residents are also invited to attend the Environmental and Sustainability Advisory Committee on March 19, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at Town Hall. |
Construction Noise By-law amendment - Report PIC-2025-10 (Item 11j) |
Council approved to amend the noise By-Law to allow construction workers to start at 6 a.m. during weekdays for temperature above 33 degrees Celsius for two consecutive days. This changes the temperature in the By-law from 36 to 33 degrees Celsius to provide a safer work environment to employees and contractors. |
Signs in Roundabout - Report PIC-2025-11 (Item 11k) |
Council approved to amend the sign By-Law to prohibits signs within the roundabouts and its perimeter to eliminate potential distraction to drivers approaching and engaged in the roundabout by reducing the amount of visual pollution and making it a safer intersection. |
New York Central Trail Encroachment Report Update – Phase 3 (Item 11l) |
Council approved Report PR-2025-02 - New York Central Trail Encroachment Report Update Phase 3. A notification letter will be sent to the residents affected by encroachments in the coming weeks, providing them with further details. |
