Capital City Condors vs. Russell Township
The Russell Township Accessibility Advisory Committee and the Russell Township Fire Services are hosting the Capital City Condors, an organization dedicated to promoting recreational opportunities for youth with disabilities. The event will take place at the Russell Arena on Friday, August 23, 2024, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. featuring a series of 30-minute ball hockey matches.
This is a fantastic opportunity to further our commitment to inclusivity for youth with physical and developmental disability within our community. Players, parents and staff from the Capital City Condors will join Russell Township staff and firefighters for a friendly competition. We invite the community to join in and cheer them on!
Who are the Capital City Condors?
The Capital City Condors are a family of ice hockey teams for those who are unable to play on any other hockey team due to a cognitive or physical disability. Players are ages 6 and up, of all ability levels and are each given a high degree of personal care and attention by the Condors’ on-ice coaches.
The Capital City Condors hockey club is a proud member of The Canadian Adapted Hockey Alliance: a collective of fully inclusive adapted hockey teams working together so that any individual who might not otherwise have the chance is provided the opportunity to play Canada’s game and see their hockey dreams come true!
