Canada Community-Building Fund Helps Pave Two Roads
More
This year, Russell Township received $714,002 from the Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) which was used to pave two sections of roads, Loucks Drive (in its entirety), and Route 400, from South Russell Road to Wade Street. This work was completed in early October 2023 and ensures roads are maintained to the same level of service as it was before.
Formerly called the federal Gas Tax Fund, it was renamed in 2021 to the Canada Community-Building Fund CCBF to better reflect the Fund’s purpose to grow the economy, promote a cleaner environment, and build stronger communities all by investing in local infrastructure. This Fund is administered by the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO). CCBF provides direct, permanent, stable funding to help each municipality in Ontario address local infrastructure priorities. For more information on the CCBF visit the Government of Canada’s website or www.buildingcommunities.ca.
