A $50 000 grant for the Embrun Station and Museum
February 19, 2025 — The ‘Société historique d’Embrun’ (better known as the Embrun Station committee) is very happy to announce a $50 000 grant from the Desjardins Ontario Credit Union Community Development Fund. The funding will enable continued rehabilitation and renovation of the station leading to the creation of the historical museum of Embrun and the activities connected to it.
"The Community Development Fund supports the realization of impactful projects in Ontario. We are proud to offer our support to this initiative, which has the potential to positively influence our community and highlight Francophone culture," adds Michel Brunet, Director, Business Development at Desjardins Ontario Credit Union.
The creation of the Historical Museum is increasingly closer to becoming reality due to this generous partnership.
The ‘Société’ will be able to restore and transform the original warehouse of the Embrun station transforming it into a museum celebrating the unique French heritage of our region. The seasonal museum (spring through fall) will offer exhibitions of memorabilia and artefacts obtained from the community. It will become an educational and cultural space where residents and visitors of all regions can gather around the history of their village.
The ‘Société" wants to thank Desjardins for their generous support and they are committed to using this financing judiciously in meeting our ambitious goals. They aim for the construction to begin this spring.
