2SLGBTQIA+ Pride Month 2023
Happy 2SLGTBQIA+ pride month! Beginning in June until September, 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and allies will come together in many cities throughout the summer to highlight the resilience, talent, and contributions of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. With the help of our Community, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, the Township of Russell continues to promote and foster a community where all residents and visitors feel welcome, comfortable, valued, and respected.
The acronym stands for two-spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, and the + stands for other ways individual express themselves. This is to celebrate and recognize these folks in our community and highlight the changes and challenges the community face.
On Saturday June 17th 2023 from 10 am to 12 pm, we invite the community to City Hall (717 Notre-Dame Street, Embrun), for a pride flag ceremony. There will be speakers, performances, community art and information.
