Open Call for Photographers: 2023 Russell Township Photography Expo!

We invite hobby, amateur, and professional photographers to submit their images for the 2023 Township of Russell Photo Expo!

Every person who submits will have at least one of their artworks printed and exhibited during the Russell Art at Night event. Additionally, they will receive a gift certificate to The SPAO Centre to further their photographic passion. An independent jury will look at all the images submitted and select 4 winners that will be printed and displayed as outdoor public art in the Township!

This year’s theme is “Stillness.” As the Police Village of Russell turns 125, we want to consider places, moments and emotions that can be gone again in a flash, moments we find when we slow down, and moments that bring you right back to the memories of once was. Let yourself be captivated by the simple and by the quiet. Find wonder in the ordinary and appreciate what has remained the same.

The jury will decide winners for the following categories:

• Best Youth (18 and under)
• Best Portrait
• Best Landscape
• Best Overall

Submission Deadline: Monday August 21, 2023 at 11:59 PM
Exhibition: Saturday September 16, 2023.

Anyone from Canada can enter this competition, however all images must have been taken within the Township of Russell boundaries. A map of the Township boundaries can be found at www.russell.ca/maps.
