Nominations for the Township of Russell 2024 municipal by-election may be filed by appointment only with the Clerk or Deputy Clerk until 2:00 p.m. on Nomination Day (Friday, August 16, 2024 - 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.)
Nominations Papers are available online or at Town Hall.

Becoming a Candidate
Becoming an Elected Official/Member of Council is a great way to serve your community, but it requires a lot of time and effort. This information guide gives you some information on what may be expected and required as you decide on whether to run for the upcoming municipal election.

Filing Your Nomination
To file your nomination you must file the following with the Municipal Clerk:
- a completed Nomination Form (Form 1) and the nomination fee
- a completed Endorsement of Nomination Form (Form 2)
At the end of your campaign (only), you must file the following with the Municipal Clerk:
Note: The filing fee is payable by cash, certified cheque, money order or electronic payment if specified by the Clerk. Candidates will be required to provide proof of identity. Only forms with original signatures filed in person by the candidate or by an agent will be accepted. Nominations papers are to be accompanied by 25 endorsement signatures from eligible electors (Form 2).
