International Transgender Day of Visibility 2025

March 31 is International Transgender Day of Visibility, a day to celebrate and honor transgender people and increase visibility and awareness of the transgender community's struggles and triumphs.

Visibility is essential in the fight for transgender rights. Historically, transgender individuals have often been marginalized, misunderstood, and excluded from mainstream society. The simple act of being seen and heard can help break down misconceptions and foster greater acceptance. On this day, we recognize and celebrate the presence of transgender individuals, both in our Township and in the wider world.

With the help of our Community, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, the Township of Russell continues to foster a healthy and safe community where all feel welcome, comfortable, valued, and respected.
