Are you looking for a way to be involved in your community? The Township of Russell is seeking to fill a few positions on committees and local boards.
Line Fence Viewers (2 Positions) |
Mandate: Appointed by the Council of the Township of Russell to make awards apportioning responsibility for the fence between two owners. The Line Fences Act provides legislative procedures for resolving fencing disputes between neighbouring land-owners. Meeting Schedule: The Committee shall meet on an as required basis. |
Property Standards Committee (2 Positions) |
Mandate: The function of the Property Standards Committee is to hear appeals, filed by owners or occupants of property within the Township of Russell in accordance to the Property Standards By-law and the Building Code Act. Meeting Schedule: The Committee shall meet on an as required basis. |
Township of Russell Public Library Board (1 position) |
Terms of Reference:
Meeting Schedule: A board shall hold regular meetings once a month for at least 10 months each year and at such other times as it considers necessary. (s. 16 of the Public Libraries Act) |
Requirements:
a) Must be 18 years of age or over;
b) Must be a Canadian Citizen;
c) Must be a resident of the Township of Russell;
d) Bilingualism is an asset (English/French);
e) Is not employed by the Library Board or by the Township or County (for Library).
Term:
Concurrent with the term of Council (ending November 14, 2026, or until a successor member is appointed).
Remuneration:
