Apply for a Washable Diaper Grant
More
To encourage families to use washable diapers, the Township of Russell has ten grants of $200 each year to help parents. Washable diapers are an eco-friendly and economical choice for several reasons:
- One child will use 6000 disposable diapers from birth to potty training, which equals one ton of garbage;
- Disposable diapers take years to decompose;
- Thousands of trees per year are cut down in Canada to make disposable diapers;
- You can see savings of near $ 1,500 per child.
Eligibility:
- Must have a child of less than 6 months old or be pregnant as of January 1st;
- Be a resident of Russell Township;
- Use washable diapers from birth to potty training;
- Sign up before December 31 of the current year;
- Submit documentation in the first six months after the birth;
- Purchase a minimum of 20 new washable diapers within the calendar year.
