During the winter season, Township road crews work to keep roads and sidewalks safe by clearing snow and ice. Snowplows and other maintenance vehicles use flashing blue lights while working. Please drive carefully and give crews space to do their work.
Snowplow routes and priorities are planned in advance to provide the best service across the Township. Routes are set using Minimum Maintenance Standards from the Ministry of Transportation.
Priority is given to school bus routes and roads used by emergency and public service vehicles.
The Township clears snow and applies salt on designated sidewalks. Priority is given to sidewalks in village cores and along routes leading to schools.

If you believe a Township snowplow has damaged your mailbox, landscaping or other property, submit a request to the Infrastructure Department with the following information:

Snow thrown from a plow blade can cause damage to mailboxes and posts. You can help protect your mailbox by installing a solid snow deflector, such as:
A sturdy deflector can help reduce the risk of damage during winter plowing operations.
