Arenas and Skating

Before and after your session

• Arrive no more than 15 minutes before your scheduled time
• Leave within 15 minutes after the session ends

Supervision and safety

• Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older
• Skaters 12 years and under must wear a CSA‑certified hockey helmet
• Helmets are recommended for skaters of all ages
• Skating aids are not provided

On the ice

• Only people wearing skates are permitted on the ice
• Skate at a safe speed in the same direction as other skaters
• The centre of the ice is reserved for children and less confident skaters
• Exit the ice promptly when the buzzer sounds
• Do not enter the ice until the resurfacer has left and the gate is closed
• Hockey sticks and pucks are not permitted

Behaviour expectations

• Respect staff and follow all instructions
• Report any accidents or injuries to staff immediately
• Foul language or inappropriate behaviour is not tolerated

Activities not permitted

You may be asked to leave the facility if you:

• Carry children, including baby carriers
• Use cell phones, headsets or handheld electronics
• Bring food or drinks onto the ice
• Engage in rough play or group games (such as tag or races)
• Practice figure skating, power skating or speed skating

Wheelchairs, strollers and skating aids:

• Skating aids are permitted during public skating
• Babies must be properly secured in strollers
• Wheels must be free of sand and salt before going on the ice
• CSA-approved helmets are required for wheelchair and stroller occupants over 12 months old
• Wheelchairs and strollers must remain near the boards and along the perimeter of the ice

• Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult
• All participants must wear skates, gloves and a CSA-approved helmet
• Participants under 19 years old must wear a full-face shield
• Participants must play in the appropriate age group
  • Anyone suspected of being in the wrong age group may be asked to leave
  • This is strictly enforced to ensure the safety of all participants
• Respect the Schedule:
  • Do not enter the ice before your session start time
  • Early entry creates safety risks
• This session is for non-competitive practice, including skating, stick handling and passing

Inappropriate behavior or failure to follow staff instructions is not tolerated

Weekdays after 5:00 p.m. and weekends after 7:00 a.m.

Weekdays before 5:00 p.m. and weekends before 7:00 a.m.

Conditions:

• Same‑day, last‑minute reservations may be accepted
• Reservations must be made with a Parks and Recreation staff member before arriving
• The full rental fee must be paid before going on the ice
• A responsible person 18 years of age or older must be present at all times
• Reservations are subject to staff availability and ice time availability
