On January 26, 2026, Township of Russell Council adopted a Community Safety and Well-Being Plan. The goal of the Community Safety and Well-Being Plan is to support and promote sustainable communities.
The plan identifies risks to community safety and well-being and sets actions to help reduce these risks. Over one hundred community individuals, groups, organizations, and agencies have been consulted in this process.
View the Community Safety and Well-Being PlanUnder the Province’s Safer Ontario Act, 2018 municipalities are required to develop a Community Safety & Well-being Plan using the provincial government’s Community Safety and Well-Being Framework.
The overall purpose of the plan is for everyone to feel safe, have a sense of belonging, access to services, and where individuals and families can meet their needs for education, health care, food, housing, income, and social and cultural expression.
