Township of Russell Community Improvement Plan – Villages of Embrun and Russell

By-Law 2025-036

Being a by-law to adopt a Community Improvement Plan for the “Township of Russell Community Improvement Plan – Villages of Embrun and Russell”.

WHEREAS Section 28 (4) of Part IV of the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, c.P.13 (“the Planning Acf’) empowers the council of a municipality in which a by-law designating a community improvement project area has been passed to adopt a community improvement plan; and

WHEREAS pursuant to By-law Number 2025-035, The Corporation of the Township of Russell designated the land identified in Schedule “A” to that By-law as a community improvement project area to be known as the ‘Village of Embrun Community Improvement Project Area’; and

WHEREAS pursuant to By-law Number 2025-035, The Corporation of the Township of Russell designated the land identified in Schedule “B” to that By-law as a community improvement project area to be known as the ‘Village of Russell Community Improvement Project Area’; and

WHEREAS Council of the Corporation of the Township of Russell deems it expedient and in the interest of the Municipality to adopt a Community Improvement Plan for the lands designated and known as the ‘the “Village of Embrun Community Improvement Project Area” and the “Village of Russell Community Improvement Project Area” now therefore be it

RESOLVED THAT THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF RUSSELL HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

1. THAT By-law 2025-021, being the same Township of Russell Community Improvement Plan By-law, previously approved on February 10, 2025, be and the same is hereby repealed.
2. THAT the document attached hereto as Schedule “A” entitled “Township of Russell Community Improvement Plan – Villages of Embrun and Russell” is hereby adopted as a Community Improvement Plan pursuant to Section 28(4) of the Planning Act.
3. THAT this By-law shall come into force and take effect upon being passed by Council.
