The Township of Russell has a beautiful dog park where your dog can roam without a leash at 550 Notre-Dame Street, Russell.
The dog park is open daily all year between 5:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., unless otherwise posted.
At the Dog Park, there is a:
- Gazebo with picnic tables
- Sunshades
- Jumping circle
- Dog water fountain (turned off during the colder months)
- 2 km of open space
Dog Park Rules
- Dogs must be leashed when entering and exiting the off-leash area.
- Owners must clean up after their dogs.
- All dogs must be legally licensed, have up-to-date vaccination and must wear valid tags.
- The following are not permitted in the dog park:
- Dogs under 4 months of age
- Female dogs in heat
- Sick or injured dogs
- Aggressive dogs
- Do not leave the fenced-in area while your dog is in the dog park.
- Owners must carry a leash at all times while in the dog park.
- Dogs must be under verbal control at all times.
- Dogs showing aggression are not permitted. At the first sign of aggression, the owner must immediately leash and remove their dog from the park.
- Owners may not bring more than two dogs at the park at one time.
- Glass containers, toys and food are not permitted in the dog park.
- Smoking is not permitted.
- Pinch (prong), choke and spike collars are not allowed in the dog park.
- Handlers must be 15 years of age and older. Children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult a all times.
