Winter Parking Ban in Effect - Dec 9

An on-street parking ban is in effect tonight, until 7:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024.
During this period, no person shall park a vehicle or permit a vehicle to remain on a street between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., regardless of the weather conditions. Any person who does so is liable to a fine and/or will have their vehicle towed at the owner’s expense.
During a winter parking ban, please park in your driveway or use one of our designated overnight parking areas. Learn more about

National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women takes place every year on December 6. This day is about remembering those who have experienced gender-based violence and those who have lost their lives to it, namely the 14 young women who were murdered at Polytechnique Montréal in 1989.

Please take note of the following road closures:
- When: Thursday, December 5 at 2pm until work is completed
- Where: Notre-Dame Street, between Domaine Street and St-Pierre Road.
- Why: Hydro pole fire/repair
- Detour : Ste. Marie Road at Notre-Dame Street, to Route 400, to St. André Road, to Notre-Dame Street.

We have been made aware of the inappropriate behaviour displayed by the individuals dressed as Deadpool during the Embrun Parade last night. While these individuals were registered participants, they were not affiliated with any other floats or business. Their actions were not approved by the parade organizers, l’Association des pompiers d’Embrun, and do not reflect the values of our community.

During the Canada Post strike, ensure your taxes and utility bills are still paid on time to avoid late fees.
- Sign up for our pre-authorized payment plan and paperless billing to receive you bills without delays at www.russell.ca/PAP.
- Visit Town Hall from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to make your payment in person (cash or debit)
- Use the drop-box in front of Town Hall at any time.
