An on-street parking ban is in effect each night from 1:00a.m. to 7:00a.m. from December 1, 2023, to February 29, 2024, inclusively.
During this period, no person shall park a vehicle or permit a vehicle to remain on a street between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., regardless of the weather conditions. Any person who does so is liable to a fine and/or will have their vehicle towed at the owner’s expense.

During this period, no person shall park a vehicle or permit a vehicle to remain on a street between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., regardless of the weather conditions. Any person who does so is liable to a fine and/or will have their vehicle towed at the owner’s expense.

Tree Planting in Russell Township

This week, we're adding a touch of green to our community! Our Parks and Recreation staff are planting new trees at the Russell Library, Yahoo Park, and the new park in the St-Thomas development.
Here is the list of new trees that were planted:
- St-Thomas Park – 1 Honey Locust, 1 Red Maple ad 1 Red Oak
- Yahoo Park – 2 Red Maple, 1 Honey Locust and 1 Red Oak
- Russell Library – 1 Red Maple and 1 Pear Tree
We also took this opportunity to re-transplanted 7 trees at Jonathan Pitre Park to a safer location...
Bridge on St-André Road Reopened

The bridge rehabilitation project on St-André is now complete. This project, with a budget of approximately $1,645,000, has been ongoing since April and ensures safer and more efficient travels for everyone.
The road currently has one lane open while the scaffoldings are being removed. Both lanes will be opened in the next few days. Your patience throughout this project was truly appreciated!

November is Hindu Heritage Month

Russell Township proudly recognizes and celebrates this special month which culminates with Diwali, a festival of lights, on November 12.
Neeraj Joshi, a local resident since 2021 will be celebrating Diwali with friends and family here in Russell Township by lighting sparklers and candles to signify the victory of light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.

The following are the 2023 Remembrance Ceremonies in the Township area:
- Russell: November 11, 2023, at 24 Legion Lane, Russell (Russell Legion). Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. followed by a ceremony. Residents are invited to the Russell Curling Club after the ceremony. This event is hosted by the Russell Legion.

Parks Closed for the Season

For the safety of our residents, all municipal parks with a play structure as well as our skateparks are now closed for the winter. Equipment should not be used until we officially reopen in the spring after a safety inspection has been done.
Tennis courts in the township have also been closed for the season. We hope that you have enjoyed them this season!
