Avoid Storm Ponds: Warning for Your Health and Safety

Posted on Thursday, December 24, 2020 12:00 AM

Most of the subdivisions in the Township have a pond designed to control storm water. These ponds are not meant for residents to use recreationally. They can be dangerous to your health and safety.

In the winter, the thickness of the ice changes as it mixes with road salt. Water levels can also change very suddenly.

Please avoid these storm ponds. This includes no skating, sledding, drinking, swimming, or boating at any time of year.

Thank you for staying safe!
