Development Charges Review – Updated Meeting Dates

The Township of Russell is currently reviewing its Development Charges (DC) through a comprehensive background study.

Development Charges are fees collected from developers to help pay for the new infrastructure and municipal services required to support growth — such as roads, parks, water and wastewater systems, fire services, and recreation facilities. Intersection Improvement on Castor Street

August 2025 Recreation Complex Update

Over the past few weeks, great progress has been made on the new recreation complex:

• Pool area: The walls of the new leisure pool have been poured, and crews are working on the pool’s piping systems.
• Arena building exterior: Masonry crews have finished the east and west facades of the rinks, as well as the north wall of the resurfacer area. Siding crews are now working behind the completed masonry.

Curious About Pickleball?

Join us for an informative session and get a chance to try it for yourself! We will have balls on hand, but you are required to bring your own paddles. Come by on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. or from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Sports Dome (150 Sportsplex Street, Embrun).

The cost is $10 per player and payable the day of at the reception of the Sports Dome. Maximum 16 participants per group.
