2018 Municipal Elections

The next regular municipal election to elect a Mayor, Councillors, School Board Trustees and Police Village of Russell Trustees will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018.

Nomination Papers are available online and at the Clerk’s Office located at 717 Notre Dame Street in Embrun, from Tuesday, May 1, 2018.

The deadline for candidates to submit their Nomination Papers is Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2 P.M.

Nomination Period

Tuesday, May 1, 2018 - Friday, July 27, 2018

Candidates can file a nomination paper at the Clerk’s Office at any time during normal business hours until Nomination Day (July 27, 2018) at 2:00 p.m.

Nomination Day

Friday, July 27, 2018 (9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.)

Last day for candidates to file a nomination paper at the Clerk’s Office.  Nominations close at 2:00 p.m. This is also the deadline for withdrawal.

Nominations Certified

Monday, July 30, 2018

Clerk certifies candidate nomination papers by 4:00 p.m.

Campaign Period

Tuesday, May 1, 2018 - Monday, December 31, 2018

The Campaign Period starts when a candidate files a nomination paper and ends on December 31, 2018.

Voters’ List

Tuesday, September 4, 2018

Preliminary Voters’ List is available for candidates and revisions begin.

Tuesday, September 25, 2018

Interim Voters’ List is available for candidates and revisions continue.

Campaign Finances

Tuesday, September 25, 2018

Final Certificate of Maximum Campaign Expenses available for candidates.

Voting Day

Financial Statements

2014 Financial Statements (Candidates)

On or before 2 p.m. on March 27, 2015, all candidates are required to file with the Clerk a financial statement using the prescribed form. Candidates, whose campaign contributions and total expenses are each equal to or less than $10,000, are not required to file an auditor’s report with the financial statement. Candidates whose campaign contributions exceed $10,000 or whose total campaign expenses exceed $10,000 are required to file an auditor’s report.
