Amanda Simard, Councillor

Councillor Amanda Simard was elected to Council in the 2014 municipal elections. Also a political staffer, she has been working at the Parliament of Canada since 2009. She holds a law degree (Juris Doctor) from the University of Ottawa, and has received numerous awards and scholarships, notably the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, and the Canada Millenium Scholarship for academic excellence, community involvement, leadership and innovation. Amanda is a trustee, chair and member of various boards and committees at different levels of government. She lives in Embrun, where she was raised and her family has deep roots.

When she's not on Parliament Hill, at Council meetings, committee or board meetings or at community events, she can be found jogging around our beautiful township she's so proud to call home.
