The Township of Russell has a beautiful dog park where your dog can roam without a leash at 550 Notre Dame Street, Russell.

The dog park is open daily all year between 5:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m., unless otherwise posted.

At the Dog Park, there is a:

  • Gazebo with picnic tables
  • Jumping circle
  • Dog water fountain (turned off during the colder months)
  • And 2.2km of open space

Dog Park Rules

  1. When entering and exiting the off-leash area, your dog needs to be leashed;
  2. Poop and scoop is mandatory;
  3. All dogs must be legally licensed, have current vaccination and must wear tags;
  4. Dogs under 4 months of age, female dogs in heat, sick or injured and aggressive dogs are not allowed in the dog park;
  5. Never leave the fenced-in area while your Dog is in the Dog Park;
  6. Carry a leash at all times while your dog is in the Dog Park;
  7. You must have verbal control of your dog at all times;
  8. If your dog is showing aggression, it cannot enter the park. You must immediately leash and remove your dog(s) from the park at the first sign of aggression;
  9. You cannot have more than two (2) dogs at the park as the owner;
  10. Glass containers, toys or food are not permitted in the park;
  11. No smoking;
  12. Pinch (prong), choke and spike collars are not allowed in the dog park;
  13. Handlers must be 15 years of age and older. Children under 14 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
