Assistant Operator – Dome 

Position overview and requirements:

We are looking for dedicated, self-motivated individuals to join our team as Assistant Operators at the dome. This role is essential in ensuring our facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained for community use.

  • Perform various housekeeping duties and maintenance tasks, both inside and outside the facility.
  • Focus on maintaining the amenities within the dome and ensuring compliance with regulations in the gym, on the field, court, and track.
  • Respond to public inquiries in person, providing friendly and helpful customer service.
  • Must be 16 years of age or older.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and complete tasks independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and safety.
  • Availability - Weeknights (6pm-10:30pm)  Weekend shifts (9am-8pm)

Language requirements:

Proficiency in understanding and speaking both French and English.

Compensation:

The salary is $17.61/hour, includes a pension plan and free access to the gym at the Municipal Sports Dome.

Key Agent for Marionville

Position overview and requirements:

The Parks and Recreation Department is looking for a mature and responsible individual for the above-mentioned position.

Under the supervision of the Parks and Recreation Program Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for unlocking and locking recreational facilities in Marionville for bookings and events.

Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:

  • Be available to answer telephone calls from people wishing to visit the recreational facilities at all reasonable working times.
  • Ensure that the hall is accessible during rentals for various requests such as: outfitters, equipment rental companies, florists, etc.
  • Ensure room security by closing and locking doors and activating the security system when leaving the room.
  • Carry out work with courtesy and professionalism.
  • Must contact the Program Coordinator to report any problems encountered in the performance of their duties and/or before making any changes to the established schedule.
  • Must be available evenings and weekends.
  • Must provide a criminal record check.

Language requirements:

Proficiency in understanding and speaking both French and English.

Compensation:

$50 per week

Marionville Outdoor Rink Maintenance Attendant

Positions overview and requirements:

The Outdoor Rink Maintenance Attendant will report to the Recreation Operations Manager. Job duties and requirements include, but are not limited to:

Requirements:

  • Regular watering, snow removal and maintenance of ice surface.
  • Report ice condition on a weekly basis.
  • Maintain shelter and repairs as required.
  • Report any concerns to the Recreation Operation Manager.
  • Shift work according to maintenance needs.
  • Must be 16 years old or older.

Language requirements:

Understanding, speaking, reading, and writing of both French and English.

Compensation:

The salary is $175 per week, payable biweekly, and includes a pension plan.

  • Part-Time Registered Early Childhood Educators
  • Part-Time Early Childhood Educators

Positions overview and requirements:

Registered Early Childhood Educators under the supervision of the Daycare Manager are responsible for delivering an educational program including activities that are geared toward children's development, their health, their security and their well-being and ensure professional and efficient management of the programming and activities of the service.

  • College degree in Early Childhood Education or in the process of completing an apprenticeship program;
  • Be a member of the Association of Early Childhood Educators Ontario;
  • Valid and negative criminal record check - Vulnerable sector (within six months);
  • Hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification;
  • Must be 18 years or older;
  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Patience, empathy and understanding of children’s needs;
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
  • Capacity to work within a team and participate actively in supporting the center, children, families and co-workers;
  • Have strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Language requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of French (St. Joseph and St. Jean/La Croisée);
  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of English (St. Mother Teresa);
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Compensation:

The salary is between $26.30/hour and $29.60/hour and includes pension plan as well as a free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Center (gym).

  • Communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Patience, empathy and understanding of children’s needs;
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment;
  • Work in cooperation within a strong team environment.

Language requirements:

  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of French (St. Jean/La Croisée and Saint Joseph);
  • Excellent proficiency in understanding, speaking, reading and writing of English (St. Mother Teresa);
  • Bilingualism is an asset.

Compensation:

The salary is between $21.56/hour and $24.27/hour and includes pension plan as well as a free access to the Municipal Sports Dome Training Center (gym).

Daycare Cook

The Cook, under the supervision of the Daycare Manager, will be responsible for planning and developing balanced menus and snacks, preparing full meals, shopping, storing food and maintenance of the kitchen. The Cook can replace childcare staff on occasion.

Primary Activities:

  • Prepare nutritious and well-balanced daily meals for children, in accordance with planned menus.
  • Make any necessary menu changes or substitutions to accommodate special needs and food allergies (anaphylactic).
  • Make sure that the kitchen and food storage are clean and properly arranged at all times.
  • Assure the safety in the kitchen environment.
  • Plan menus and determine size of food portions.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Secondary school diploma plus vocational training in meal preparation cooking paired with a minimum of one year of experience in a similar position (daycare, hospital, elderly residence).
  • Food Safety Training Attestation (mandatory).
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Up to date First Aid certification (CPR Level C).
  • Up to date immunization record.
  • Valid and Negative Criminal Record Check - Vulnerable Sector (within six months).
  • Job that requires good physical fitness.
  • The incumbent must be organized, creative and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Language requirements:

Excellent proficiency in French (verbal and written). English is an asset.

Compensation:

The salary is based on a 35-hour workweek and is set between $39,230 and $44,169 per year, and includes an excellent benefits package, a pension plan and free access to the gym at the Municipal Sports Dome.
